Faith In Action

On Sunday, October 19th we didn't hold a regular Sunday morning worship service, instead, we went out into the community together and served, spending time BEING THE CHURCH ... not just doing church! Together, as a community, we endeavored to show God's love in practical ways.

Here's what we did ...

HIV Care Link:

We worked with HIV Care Link, which is an outreach of Christian compassion and hope committed to preventing the spread of HIV, empowering and supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS and equipping the church to minister effectively to people living with HIV. During our Faith in Action day we painted 2 hallways a lovely white (which had previously been a very bright pink) at an apartment complex that services people with HIV.

Shiloh House

These homes, which happen to be very close to the Littleton Vineyard, offer residential and non-residential treatment to boys whose lives have been severely impacted by abuse, neglect, and trauma. Our team stained and water-sealed fences at the homes and were able to begin some interaction and relationship with the boys and staff at these homes. Team members also brought gifts, sweets, and treats to personally encourage and show love to the boys in the homes.

Columbine High School:

After the trauma Littleton and this school has endured, our desire, like many in our our community, is to support the staff and students of Columbine. We were thrilled to be able to serve the facilities staff and work on projects that were important to them! This team painted doors and doorways at the school and also did grounds-work.

Handyman Work for the Elderly:

We partnered with Volunteers of America, an organization that provides minor home repair services and safety modifications for limited-income seniors, age 60+, who live in their own homes. Our teams were able to help a man who just turned 90 fix up his porch and paint his iron work, clean windows and clean up a garden at another home, and did major clear up and gardening for another!

Impacting a Family in Need:

This team helped with loads of gardening, home projects, and showed love to a member of the community who has been extremely ill for some time.

Littleton Family Outreach:

This team put on a "cook-out", ate and visited with families, and provided games, face-painting and fun activities in a struggling Littleton community. We also collected and distributed a huge amount of groceries to families in that community. We had a blast playing with children, putting on a soccer tournament, and building new friendships!
