Engaging
Our World
Alpha
Alpha
is a course, with a free meal, exploring questions of life:
What's the point of life? What happens when I die? What
relevance does Jesus have for my life today? Chances are
you're not the only one asking these questions. If you’d
like to find a laid back place to look for answers, look
toward Alpha.
The
Alpha course is a 10-week opportunity to explore the relevance
of the Christian faith, whether you're a Christian or a
Buddhist, an Atheist or Agnostic. Alpha is a practical introduction
to the basics of Christianity, and is centered around a
meal, a talk, and a small-group discussion. It is a place
where no question is too simple or too hostile and all viewpoints
are respected. It is a place that welcomes people from all
walks of life.
Just
bring yourself, your family, your friends, and whoever else
is looking for a few answers to life's toughest questions.
There is no cost involved.
Servant
Outreach
Mother
Theresa said, “Small things done with great love will
change the World.”
At
the Littleton Vineyard we’re seeking to change the
world with one act of love at a time, whether great or small.
With Servant Outreach we’re showing God’s love
in practical ways through simple acts of kindness to people
around us.
Who
doesn't like to be given a cold bottle of water on a hot
day? Especially by someone who is smiling, happy and having
fun. Or, who wouldn’t be thrilled at a drive-through
when they discover their lunch has been paid for by the
car ahead?
With
Servant Outreach our desire is to touch a person’s
heart, and if they are intrigued, they can find out more.
If not, we believe our kindness can touch a person’s
heart and nudge a person closer to receiving God’s
love. And anyone can participate in Servant Outreach. The
average Christ-follower is willing to hand a stranger a
can of cold Coke on a hot day. The typical reaction is,
"Oh, thank you!" "This is so nice!"
"I can't believe this is for free!" And, "Why
are you doing this?"
We
invite you to participate in our next Servant Outreach.
Check out the “RACK” in the churches lobby …
full of more information and ideas on how you can share
God’s love in simple ways.
Denver
Rescue Mission
One
of the ways we’re seeking to serve the homeless in
the city of Denver is by supporting the work of the Denver
Rescue Mission. For many years the Littleton Vineyard has
been leading chapel services, serving food, donating items,
and generally helping where needed. How can you get involved?
At
this time you can participate in an evening chapel service
by helping lead worship, share with the men and women what
God has done in your life, speak about God’s love,
teach from God’s word, or pray for the needs of the
men and women who attend.
We’re
supporting the Denver Rescue Mission in their great work
because we believe partnering with others is a powerful
thing …
"...
There I was, a Presbyterian Republican, helping a couple
of Jewish Democrats serve ham to the homeless on Christmas
Eve .... I submit to you, if we could put aside our differences
.... it is still very possible for all of us .... to work
together constructively, work together amicably, and accomplish
good things for the people of Colorado. So let's get busy
and do it!" - Senate President, Jon Andrews, Session
Opening Day 1/7/04 remarks

Food
Distribution
We’re
seeking to assist those in need by helping provide quality
food and groceries.
We’d
love you to partner with us …
- While
you're out shopping, pick up a little extra non-perishable
quality food and bring to the church.
- Volunteer
your time to deliver food to those in need.
- Help
us be aware of individuals or families who could use this
assistance.

LifeChange
(Foreign Missions)
LifeChange
International was established in 2001 by the Littleton Vineyard
Church with a vision to engage the worldwide community with
the love of Jesus. We desire to be Christ’s hands
and feet in our world through meeting practical needs and
sharing the life that can be found in Jesus.
We
have partnered to develop a significant work in Uganda,
Africa, but now also have people working long term in both
Asia and the Middle East. We have also been sending teams
to love and care for the impoverished communities of Mexico.
LifeChange Uganda
Uganda
is a nation plagued by AIDS and poverty. Many children have
become orphans or abandoned due to the AIDS epidemic and
live in extreme poverty. Many families are unable to care
for their children without help. LifeChange International
decided to help.
For
over 10 years our pastor, Ian Prichard, has been traveling
to Uganda, East Africa, building relationships and caring
for the poor and orphans of the nation while partnering
with Christians seeking to equip the people to help their
people. In 2001, LifeChange International started to support
individual children monthly through our partnership with
Omega Healing Center in Kampala. By supporting each child
with just $20 a month, LifeChange International is helping
educate, clothe, and feed children as well as give them
a hope and a future while they stay within their family
unit. As a result the Omega Healing Center has seen hundreds
of children come to Christ along with their siblings, parents,
and neighbors. This program has resulted in extraordinary
and lasting change in the community where they live.
We
have also partnered to establish and support a children’s
home in Kampala, Dwelling Places, for children unable to
stay with family, and for children who were living on the
streets. The vision of Dwelling Places is for the Ugandan
children to be raised in a Godly family setting that is
able to meet the basic needs for living. The staff serves
tirelessly to provide for the needs of all children at Dwelling
Places, which now includes abandoned babies and needy families.
Dwelling Places works to re-establish the family unit, bring
a vocation to needy families, educate the children, and
to bring the hope of Christ to each child and family they
minister to. The lives of hundred of children and infants
have been changed through this work.
LifeChange Middle EastGod
loves all people. We believe God loves Muslims and we believe
God wants us to demonstrate that love in practical ways.
As such we are working in the Middle East to touch an oppressed
Muslim community with the love of God.
LifeChange
Mexico
For
the past several years we have taken teams to Mexico to
build homes for the homeless. The last group (March 2007)
built three homes for homeless or extremely impoverished
families and reached out to over 200 people in the community
in a practical way – with food, clothing, toys, face-painting,
and more – with the desire to show the love of Jesus
to a people in need. We are looking forward
to gathering another team to partner in this amazing work
and do this all again from October 19-25, 2008.
